Bertani does things traditionally, but this isn't to say they are ignorant to progress. They have found, through tried and tested research, that respect for nature, from the vineyards to the process in which they craft their Amarone, is vital to quality. Their grapes are dried without assistance, the musts undergo long, slow fermentations in concrete vats, and then aged six years in Slavonian oak barrels, before spending another year in bottle. This dedication and time creates a wine that is full bodied with intense note of balsamic balanced with soft fruity notes of cherries, blackberries, and fig.
