CornerVine is a service that allows you to automatically track your wine purchases from all participating wine stores, rate wines, share your ratings with friends, and be notified when stores that you shop at add new wines that match your specific taste preferences.

By logging into CornerVine, you have the ability to:

  • Browse wines available at participating stores
  • See your wine purchase history from all participating stores
  • Rate wines that you have tasted
  • Bookmark wines you want to remember for future visits
  • Create filters that allow you to receive email when new wines arrive
  • Find friends who are using CornerVine and share your ratings with them
  • And more...

No. You only need one CornerVine account. Although each CornerVine store has its own customized site, you can login to each site using the same account.
First of all, you are not required to validate your phone number; however, this is the way that wine stores connect your purchases to your CornerVine account. They will ask you for your phone number when you purchase wine, and CornerVine uses the phone number to add the purchase information to our system. If you don't validate your phone number, you can still benefit from all the other features in CornerVine, but you won't see your purchase history.
  1. Make sure you have entered your phone number in your Account Info.
  2. Go here to begin the validation process.
  3. Click the "Validate" button.
  4. A dialog will appear that gives you a six-digit code. A few seconds after the dialog appears, your phone will ring. Answer the phone, then enter the six-digit code that you see on the screen.
  5. The automated voice will tell you that your number has been successfully validated, and your screen will automatically reload to show you that your number is now validated with your account.

However, only one user can "own" the number. A number is owned by the first user who validates the number using the method described above. If a second user wants to use a number that has already been validated, it is up to the owner of the number to approve this. If the owner approves the validation for the second user, all purchases made in any participating CornerVine store will appear in both accounts.
 
First, the user who owns the number needs to do the following:
  1. Go to the Validate Number form.
  2. For the number that is already validated, you will see a "Validation Code" field. Enter anything you want, but don't make it something another user could easily guess.
  3. Click the "Update" button to save the validation code.
  4. You must contact the other user directly and give her this code. For security reasons, CornerVine will not send the user the code in an email.
The user who wants to use the validated number needs to do the following:
  1. Make sure the number has been saved in your Account Info.
  2. Go to the Validate Number form.
  3. In the "Validation Code" field, enter the code that was given to you by the number's owner.
  4. Click the "Update" button to complete the validation process.
No. You only need to validate your phone number once. You can then use that number at all participating CornerVine stores.
A filter is what determines which new wines from Vine Arts Wine & Spirits will be included in your email notifications. When you create a filter, you select things like countries, regions, varietals, price ranges, etc. in any combination that you want. If you just select a couple countries and nothing else, you'll be notified whenever new wines of any type are added for those countries. If you select one or more varietals and a price range, then any time a wine is added that matches those varietals and is within the price range you provided, you'll receive an email.
 
You can be as general or as specific as you'd like. You can also have as many filters as you want. This way, you can be general about some types of products but specific about others. It's entirely up to you.
 
Notes:
  • If you add a filter and don't change any of the default settings, any new wine that is added by Vine Arts Wine & Spirits will be sent to you when your next email is scheduled.
  • Filters are specific to each participating CornerVine store. If you shop at more than one store but want to receive email notifications from all of them, you need to add separate filters for each store by logging into each store's CornerVine site.

In the Filter Settings form, you can change your notification to "None", "Daily", "Weekly", or "Monthly". Regardless of how often you receive email, CornerVine will keep track of the last email you received and all products that match your filters. When it's time to send your next email, even if it's only once per month, CornerVine will include all wines that matched any of your filters since the last email was sent to you.

When you become friends with other CornerVine users, you are able to see each other's wine ratings, favorites, and bookmarks. This is a great way to learn about new wines, to know what to pick up when heading over to a friend's for dinner, or to see what they want to try (but haven't yet) if you want to pick up the perfect gift.
  • Your wine ratings
  • Your favorite wines
  • Wines that you have bookmarked
  • A list of your friends (but only their names and photos -- users must be friend of your friend before they can see anything else, unless the account has been set as public).
  • Any account information other than your first and last name (i.e. your email address, phone number, address information, etc.)
  • Your purchase history
  • Information about who you have allowed to share your validated number
  • Your filters and filter settings

Go to the Search Users page and enter the first and/or last name of the friend you're trying to find. If you see your friend in the list, click the "Add as Friend" button beside his name. An email notification will be sent to the user informing him of your request.
 
Note: Only users who have their Search Listings setting set to "Visible to Everyone" in their Privacy Settings will be visible in the User Search.
Go to the Request list in the My Friends area of your account. You will see a list of all users who have requested that you become their friend and are awaiting approval. From the drop-down beside each request, you can either choose "Confirm" to allow the user to become a friend, or "Delete" which will cancel the request.
Yes. Although we certainly encourage you to share your wine experiences with your friends, not everybody wants to do this, and we understand. To disable the ability for any users to add you as a friend, do the following:
  1. Go to your Privacy Settings.
  2. Set the value of the "Disable Friend Request" value to "Yes".
  3. Click the "Update" button to save your changes.
Notes:
  • Even if you have made your profile visible to everyone, they will still not be able to add you as a friend.
  • This does not prevent you from adding other users as your friends. As long as they haven't disabled the friend request feature, you will still be able send them friend requests.
Anytime you're looking at a list of wines -- whether browsing wines from Vine Arts Wine & Spirits, your own wines, or your friends' wines -- you'll see a Search form at the top of the list. You can enter any criteria to find a wine in the list you're looking at, such as country, region, type, varietal, price range, availability, etc. Note that the search is always specific to the list you're looking at. So if you're in your My Wines listing, your search will only apply to wines that are in this list. To search all wines available at Vine Arts Wine & Spirits, go to the All Wines listing.
Any time you're looking at the details of a wine, you will see a "My Rating" area beside the details. From this form, you can give the wine a rating from 1-100, mark the wine as a favorite, add the wine to your bookmarks, or add a note about the wine. You can do all, none, or any combination of these actions for each individual wine.
Rating Tracking is a feature that allows you to be notified when specific users add new wine ratings. This allows you to see what other users are drinking and to learn about new wines without having to go to their accounts separately to see if they have added any new ratings.
You can receive a Rating Tracking email daily, weekly, monthly, or never, based on your settings.
 
When CornerVine sends you a Rating Tracking email, it will include all the latest ratings that your selected users have added since the last time you received a Rating Tracking email. All wines from all users from will be included in the same email, so you don't need to worry about being overwhelmed with email every time a selected user rates a new wine.
There are two ways to do this:
  1. If you are looking at a user's profile, and you have not already added the user to your Rating Tracking list, you will see an "Enable Rating Tracking" button under the user's profile image. Click this button to add the user to your Rating Tracking list.
  2. In your My Friends list, you will see a button beside each user that allows you to turn Rating Tracking on or off for each user.
Note: If a user is not in your friends list but has made her profile public, you will be able to turn Rating Tracking on for the user without adding that user as a friend. If this setting is enabled for the user, you will see the "Enable Rating Tracking" button on the user's profile page even if you are not friends with the user.
There are several settings that allow you to control who sees your profile. These can be changed in your Privacy Settings.
  1. Search Listings: If set to "Visible to Everyone", all users will be able to search for you in the Search Users area. Note that the listing only shows your first name, last name, and profile photo (if provided). If set to "Visible to Friends Only", then only users you have confirmed as friends will see you in the search results.
  2. My Profile: If set to "Visible to Everyone", all users will be able to see your public profile. This includes your ratings, favorites, bookmarks, and friends. If set to "Visible to Friends Only", then only users you have confirmed as friends will be able to see this information.
Only you and the stores you login to can see your account information. Additionally, you can have even more control over what stores can see by changing your Privacy Settings. With this form, you can be specific about what personal information from your account (such as email address, phone number, and mailing address) is visible to the stores you login to. Remember that this is specific to each store, so changing these settings while logged into one store does not affect the settings for other stores.
 
Note: If a store adds the contact information themselves, that is separate from the information you provide yourself; however, if you no longer allow a store to see your personal information, then any changes you make after that point will not be reflected in the information that was added by the store.
